Laboratory Gas Systems

Specialty and high-purity gas reticulation for universities, research facilities and laboratories across Melbourne and Victoria.

We install the gas systems laboratories depend on, from argon, nitrogen and helium lines to carbon dioxide, compressed air and vacuum, with the isolation, alarm monitoring and gas detection that keep people and experiments safe.

Our lab work covers new buildings, refurbishments and single-room upgrades for universities, TAFEs and research facilities.

What we install

  • Reticulation for argon, nitrogen, helium, carbon dioxide and other specialty gases
  • High-purity gas lines
  • Cylinder manifolds, from single-cylinder to automatic changeover
  • Isolation valve boxes with pressure switches, and gas alarm panels
  • Isolation valves and capped provisions for future equipment
  • Oxygen depletion and gas detection systems
  • Laboratory vacuum and compressed air

Gas detection and oxygen depletion

Inert gases such as argon and nitrogen displace oxygen without any warning. Where these gases are stored or used in enclosed rooms, we can supply and install fixed oxygen depletion detectors, a gas detection control panel and audible and visual alarms, commissioned and ready to connect to the building management system.

Planning for the next instrument

Labs change often. We leave isolation valves and capped connections where future equipment is planned, so new instruments can be connected later without shutting down the whole system.

Working in occupied campuses

We plan around teaching and research schedules, and can run external pipework from elevated work platforms where internal routes aren't practical.

Frequently Asked Questions

We install systems for argon, nitrogen, helium, carbon dioxide and other specialty gases, as well as laboratory vacuum and compressed air.

Where inert or hazardous gases could build up in an enclosed space, gas detection is commonly required by the project specification or the site's risk assessment. We can supply and install oxygen depletion and gas detection systems and advise on detector placement.

We install an isolation valve at each equipment connection point. Final connection to instruments is often done by the equipment supplier, or we can include it in our quote.

Yes. We plan around teaching and research schedules and work with campus facilities teams and builders on access, shutdowns and commissioning.
